Board of Directors - For the purpose of civil law, the voting officers of this nonprofit corporation shall consist of a Board of Directors, including the Pastor. Board members shall be selected by the congregation at regular elections. These Godly men shall meet the qualifications listed in I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, or I Timothy 3:8-13, and Acts 6:3. The church secretary and treasurer will support the Board of Directors, as needed. The Board of Directors shall oversee and care for the spiritual oversight of the work of the ministry in Emmanuel Chapel.
Trustees – The Trustees shall consist of church members, including the Church Treasurer (non-voting member). The Trustees shall be responsible for legal and other valuable papers including insurance, deeds, etc. They shall oversee church properties and buildings and their upkeep and maintenance. The Trustees shall submit a proposed annual budget to the Board of Directors for review and approval.
Deaconesses – Deaconesses membership will consist of godly women with the qualities outlined in Titus 2:3-5. Others will be invited to support the Deaconesses as necessary to meet identified needs. The Deaconesses shall assist the Pastor and the Board of Directors in ministering to the general spiritual needs of women and children, including nursery needs. They shall minister, within their abilities, to the needs of individuals, families, and friends of the church; for example, dinners for families at times of death, hospitalizations, etc.
Christian Education – The Christian Education committee provides guidance in children’s Sunday School curriculum and special programs such as Vacation Bible School, Christmas programs, etc.
Missions – The Missions committee shall oversee the missionary support of the church and in direct contact with missionaries and missionary organizations financially supported by Emmanuel Chapel. The Missions committee will work with the Trustees and the Treasurer to recommend financial support amounts for both individual missionaries and for institutional missions outreach.
Music – The Music committee shall supervise the music program of the church.
