Statement of Faith
 The Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that the following Statement of Faith accurately represents the teaching of the Bible and, therefore, is binding upon all members. All literature used in the church shall be in complete agreement with the Statement of Faith.
WE BELIEVE IN:
1. The inspiration of the Bible, equally in all parts and without error in its origin;
2. The one God, eternally existent Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who created man by a direct immediate act;
3.
A. The pre - existence (Christ has always existed),
B. Incarnation (Christ became flesh and dwelt among us),
C. Virgin birth (conceived of the Holy Ghost),
D. Sinless life (“...but [He] was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” Hebrews 4:15b),
E. Miracles,
F. Substitutionary death (“Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree.” I Peter 2:24),
G. Bodily resurrection,
H. Ascension to Heaven,
I. And the physical second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Corinthians 15:51-58);
4.
A. The fall of man (“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23),
B. The need of the regeneration by the operation of the Holy Spirit on the basis of grace alone (“... Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God .” John 3:3),
C. And the resurrection of all to life or damnation (“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:18);
5.
A. The spiritual unity of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, living a life of righteous works (“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22),
B. Separated from the world (“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” James 4:4; AND “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: For what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore, come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing: and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” II Corinthians 6:14-18),
C. And witnessing of His saving grace through the ministry of the Holy Spirit (“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20).
6. That water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during the present age. They are however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
A. Baptism. We believe in the immersion of the believer in water to signify his death, burial, and resurrection and the believer’s identification with Christ. Romans 6:3-5; Acts 8:36-38
B. Communion. The Lord’s Supper (or Communion) constitutes the other of the only two ordinances of the Church. I Corinthians 11:23-32
7. That the true Church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Universal body of Christ of which He is the head. That only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church. (John 3:3-5; Titus 3:5)
8. That Jesus is the Lord and the head of the true Church and that every local church has the responsibility under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs. (Ephesians 1:22, 23)
9. That God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. (Genesis 2:24; Genesis 19:5-7, 13; Genesis 26:8-9; Leviticus 18:1-30, 20:13; Romans 1:26-29; I Corinthians 5:1, 6:9; I Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4)
10. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance.
11. We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one naturally born man and one naturally born woman. (Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2; I Corinthians 7:10; Ephesians 5:22-23)
